Rant on Rights

Ok, I'm slightly pissed right now. I posted the following status on Facebook, a copy paster from a friend of  mine named Laura:

JUNE IS NATIONAL PRIDE MONTH: Put this as your status if you know or love someone who is GAY. A wish that people will SOON understand that being GAY is not a disease or a choice! People who are GAY are not looking for a CURE but for ACCEPTANCE & EQUAL RIGHTS. Many won't copy and paste this. Will you make it your status for at least one hour? PROMOTE LOVE AND ACCEPTANCE. (FOR TRANS* FOLKS TOO!) :)

Ok, fair enough right? First thing that happens, a fundie friend of mine posts: :\ Sorry but it is a choice.
 
My immediate reaction, when I got the post 45 minutes later, was to post the following: Could you EVER POSSIBLY force yourself to be attracted to be a male?
 
And that's how people need to fucking think! THEY ARE PEOPLE TOO! Christians (aka 85% of the US population) are acting like you can CHOOSE to not find members of the opposite sex sexually attractive. They act like I wake up every morning and go, ya know, I THINK I might continue to be straight today. You know when the last time this was happening was?
 
THE 60's! Black people were being discriminated against, treated like second class citizens, couldn't marry, own property... HEY!
