Just a little rant...

I LOVE MAGIC! Ok, well, to be more specific, I love Magic: The Gathering, as in the card game. Ren got me addicted. I have three decks, and I'm going to put up a little bit about the built in strategy, and some of my favorite cards in each and why.

My blue/white Spirit deck is built around bringing out 1/1 White Flying Spirit tokens and powering them up. For example, I have a card called Battleground Geist, and whenever he's on the field, all Spirit creatures (Not just tokens, it's a whole sub-type) get +1/+0. He's a Spirit too, and he is affected by ANOTHER Battleground Geist.  And Gallows Warden gives +0/+1. And I also have Intangible Virtue, which gives all creature tokens +1/+1 and Vigilance. But my favorite card is Mikaeus, the Lunarch. I can power up all creatures on my field multiple times. He's just a BEAST!

My Mono-black is a Vampire Deck. It's built around Lifelink, or, whenever I do damage to my opponent, I gain Life. My favorite cards in this deck are Blade of the Bloodchief, Lashwrithe, and Vampire Nighthawk. ESPECIALLY when used in tandem. Blade of the Bloodchief gives any creature it's equipped to, +1/+1, but if it's a vampire, it gets +2/+2, for every creature that dies. Lashwrithe gives +1/+1 for every Swamp I control, which, when this deck behaves, it can produce very rapidly, and so buffing my creatures up to unholy proportions. Add BOTH of these to my Vampire Nighthawk which has flying, (can't be blocked by any creature without flying or reach.) Deathtouch (Any damage, even if it's just one, is enough to destroy a creature. One deathtouch damage is literally infinite, I could destroy a 30/30 with this.) and lifelink. (Any damage done, to creature or player, is life to me.) So, equipped with a card that at one point gave him +10/+10, and TWO BotB's, which means he got +4/+4 for EVERY creature that died, I had my near-indestructable Nighthawk to 45/45. Only had 20 life. Never stood a chance.

My mono-red is the ONLY deck I have that ISN'T built with a strategy. It's just a basic red, which means direct damage is big. Favorite card in HERE is Shrine of Burning Rage. Every time I play a red card (excepting land) and at the beginning of every turn, he gets a charge counter. That goes up quick. Then I can do that much damage DIRECTLY. I had him up to 15 charge counters. Sweet.
